If you’re reading this you’re probably wondering who is “4WD GIRL”? Well, I’m Emily, I’m 24 years old and I live right down the bottom of Australia, on the stunning Island of Tasmania.
As the name might suggest, I’m crazy about 4wding. My love for it started at a very young age. I remember as a toddler, my Dad piling us all into his ex-Army Land Rover and taking us out on crazy adventures. With Dad’s approval, I nick named it the “Army Jeep”. I know what you’re thinking….. “It’s not a jeep!” But being a toddler, that’s what I saw it as and the name seemed to stick.
Skip forward 20 years and here I am. I’ve turned into the girl that buys 4wd parts before putting food in the cupboard and the chick that would rather be bogged in the mud, instead of out shopping.
I don’t just enjoy 4wding, I live it. I spend every weekend 4wding, camping, fishing, hiking or repairing all the stuff I break doing those things. I believe 4wding is a way of life, you don’t need to have an endless bank account or the newest 4wd with all the gear, you just simply need to get out there, explore and have fun!
I’ve spent the past 4 years building my Suzuki Vitara into the 4wd that it is today, I even built a matching camping trailer to tow behind. Recently I just purchased a new project 4wd… A 1978 Toyota Landcruiser BJ40. Over the next 12 months you’ll see me transform this 4wd into my dream 4wd tourer.
