30km from Goondiwindi, tucked down the end of an access road, the tranquil Lee’s Reserve Camp Ground offers a variety of spots to suit all travellers, from large caravans to camper trailers and those with tents and swags.
The large flat elevated area overlooking the normally flowing Dermesq River provides excellent spots for caravans with a water front view. For those less restricted, there are numerous spots lower down the river bank, offering more seclusion and easier access to the water.
The area is home to a variety of wildlife, from Pelicans to Goannas and even a cheeky fox! We chose a spot right near the waters edge that offered us a front row seat to it all.
Sadly while we visited the river wasn’t flowing, however there was still a large volume of water to swim and fish in, even some fresh water mussel could be found.
Allowing up to a 14 night stay, this free, pet friendly site offers a great place to stay for the whole family. There are no facilities, but the council does provide large bins so you can dispose of your waste correctly.
Fires are allowed (always check the local fire bans). There is a small amount of fire wood laying around, but it’s advisable to bring your own.
If peace and quite is what your after than this place is worth checking out!
